Joint pains and arthritis
Who do I see?
Advice:
If you have been having ongoing joint pains for example in a knee or hip, please submit an online medical consultation request for the GP Clinical Team giving us as much information about your problem as you can. We will respond usually with an offer of an appointment with a First Contact Physiotherapist, a GP or other suitable clinician to assess your problem further.
If you have a joint that has become red, hot and swollen, not as a result of a recent injury, please submit an online medical consultation request for the Urgent Medical Problem Team giving us as much information about your problem as you can. You will get a same-day response usually by telephone or a time to attend the surgery for further assessment and examination.
For joint problems caused by a recent injury (within a week), please access the Minor Injury Unit at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin by calling 111. We do not have a Minor Injury Unit at Forres Health and Care Centre. Please do not come to the building with minor injuries as you will need to be redirected.
If you cannot use the online service please call us on 0345 337 1120 and a member of the care navigation team will help you.
