Tick Bite
Who do I see?
Advice:
Please follow the comprehensive information and videos about tick bites on NHS Inform. Most ticks can be removed safely yourself and most tick bites require no further treatment other than keeping the site clean.
The NHS Inform website provides advice about how to prevent tick bites, how to safely remove ticks from your skin and when you might need to seek further advice.
You can purchase tick-removal tools from many places including community pharmacies.
If after following the NHS Inform advice you need to seek further advice from us, please submit an online medical consultation request for the Urgent Medical Problem Team giving us as much information about your problem as you can. You will get a same-day response usually by telephone or a time to attend the surgery for further assessment and examination.
If you cannot use the online service please call us on 0345 337 1120 and a member of the care navigation team will help you.
